Training of riding instructors of the
"School of Légèreté"

The first groups have started their training at the beginning of 2004 (three groups in Germany, one in Switzerland). They will take their final exam in early 2007.
The recruitment for the next training course has already started. Candidates may apply until August 31, 2006.

Selection
.
Students:
- You should already work as a riding instructor, at least on a part-time level.
- Send the following documents to the address mentioned below:
- a curriculum vitae and a letter explaining your motivation (in English)
- a video cassette or DVD showing yourself during the work with your horses, and which allows to appreciate your riding level.
- The following areas are being discussed for the training: Hamburg - Hannover - Köln - Münster - Frankfurt - Singen - Zürich - Wien. Please mention the region you would prefer.
The results of the selection will be published in September 2006.

Organisation
With the signature of the contract, riders and listeners commit themselves to following the three years of training (10 clinics).

Students:
- The initial training course lasts three years, with three clinics of four days taking place every year.
- The first clinic will take place in early 2007. The tenth clinic at the beginning of 2010 will be devoted to the final exam.
- The riders participate in the training course with their own horses.
- The training fee amounts to 550 € per clinic. (This fee does not include the accommodation of the rider and his horse.)

- 230 € per clinic

- Work in hand, at the lunge and with the long reins

Exam

The riders will be judged on
- their theoretical knowledge and their riding culture
- the level reached by their horses
- their pedagogical competence.
Certificate

Students:
.
The riders who have passed the final exam will be awarded a certificate as "Riding Instructor of the School of Légèreté", which will entitle them to officially teach this riding philosophy. The list of the people who have earned this qualification will be updated annually and published on the Internet and in the riding press.
Since a patent has been applied for on this training concept, which will protect it from possible plagiarism, distortions or fanciful exploitation, no one will be able to claim being a member of the "School of Légèreté" or a student of Philippe Karl without having earned the appropriate certificate.

Listeners:
At the end of the three years´ training course, the assiduous listeners will be awarded a certificate of the "School of Légèreté".

Retraining and further education

The students who have failed the exam, and those who wish to further improve their knowledge, will have the opportunity to prolong their training by following two clinics of four days each per year.
